Going Back To The Corner Where I First Saw You January 21, 2009

Finally, I found a new piano teacher for my diploma course. She’s quite good but most importantly, she believes and has faith in me. Tentatively, we have taken a few pieces into consideration, namely,

1. Beethoven’s Pathetique Sonata.
2. Beethoven’s Sonata in F Minor.
3. Copland’s Cat & Mouse.
4. Intermezzo in A by Brahms.
5. Rhapsodie No 2 by Brahms.

So on Monday, I dragged Liy and T to Esplanade library to grab the scores and sight-read it. Seriously, I was disappointed to find out that the whole library does not have any of Copland’s works. Not even Appalachian Spring. Also, we took neoprints at Bugis. Been so long since I last took neoprints.

I was supposed to meet Ruth at J8 yesterday but I took the wrong bus and had to take a cab from Ubi.

Off to choir,

4 Parts Of Freedom November 16, 2008

To date, I’ve already experienced 4 days of my life that define the true meaning of ‘Freedom’. I finally realized the real meaning of this word after 4 years. I have 3 months to make full use of ‘Freedom’ before I go back to the i-don’t-know-what’s-freedom mode for another 2 years. Here’s what I’ve been doing for the past one week.

FREEDOM PART 1

Right after Science MCQ paper, I met up with Tasha and Liy to watch High School Musical 3 and do some thrift shopping! I was feeling really random and bored, so, I raked Adib’s closet and got a ‘I Love SG’ tee. It’s really huge, so I had to tuck it in. There were a few people who were staring at me, or rather, my shirt. Right.

Practically the whole movie theatre was filled with students. Then, there was this irritating kid next to me who kept fidgetting.

After that, we took the train to Bugis where I got my loafers and gladiator sandals. After roaming around Bugis for close to an hour, Tasha finally found her perfect prom dress.

This means, “I love Tchaikovsky”. Tchaikovsky is this dude who wrote ‘Swan Lake’ and in our Music textbook’s exact words, “got married to conceal his homosexuality.”

Bored people waiting for the train.

Obama or Mccain? In any case, Obama reminds me of Usher. Usher as in, the dude who sang ‘Yeah!’.

FREEDOM PART 2

The next day, I met up with Azryl, Hanna, Razeef, Tiara, Liyana and Farie to go to Vivocity. Hanna and I went mad at Forever21 and I tried on close to 20 tops and 5 pairs of jeans. Even the dudes went mad at Pull and Bear. We saw the netballers at Vivocity and Miss Fardiana and Miss Cloven Ong. Serious shopping done within 5 hours or so. I was totally worn out when I reached home and sad too cause my wallet suddenly became thin.

FREEDOM PART 3

13 Nov was 4E6’s class chalet. I met up with Hanna, Razeef and Sheila on the bus. Sheila and Hanna left earlier for the Rihanna concert. The chalet was a blast! Food was good, company was awesome.

Razeef and I rented a chick flick, John Tucker Must Die and bought a tub of Tiramisu ice-cream. So, Hanna, Sheila, Razeef and I were in the supposedly guys room and ate the ice-cream with the brownies my mother made and watched the chick flick. Natasha, Huiying, Jannah, Jolene and Yiwen joined awhile later.

I tried to act like Kanye West with Hanna’s shades.

Razeef’s amazing photography skills!

Razeef in Sheila’s dress.

I am about the same height as Natasha. She tiptoed.

Dingping’s hair is totally cool.

FREEDOM PART 4

Today’s the “Yamaha High Scorer’s Concert” at Thomson Plaza.

Liy and Tasha came over to my house for awhile to jam. Then, we met up with Felicia and Adib at Thomson Plaza where we had Swensens for lunch. The ambience at Swensens was amazing! They played the High School Musical 3 soundtrack and even had a special menu. The 3 of us were singing along to the songs and I’m sure Felicia had a shock at how noisy I can get.

I was only allowed to play 4 bars of my Nocturne and 3 of my Copland piece. So much for warm-up. Amanda dropped by to watch me play for the last time. Papa Leung was late, but luckily, he managed to listen to me play! I thought he wouldn’t come! After I gave my introduction, I forgot to bow! So, I went like, “Eh!” and I bowed. There were a few slip notes but I guess that’s inevitable. Tasha presented me with a bouquet of flowers after I finished my performance.

We got Starbucks and went back home where we jammed again. The 3 of us sang Five For Fighting’s Superman, Think Of Me from Phantom of the opera and we korean-ized Accidentally In Love from the Shrek soundtrack. Awesome, awesome, awesome.

With Amanda, my piano teacher for 6 years.

We played Symphony No 104’s introduction by Haydn.

With Mr Leung. The coolest non-western music teacher!

Lastly, with Adib.

So, that’s the whole overview. Heh.

Tomorrow, I am going to try and do some scrapbooking and perhaps re-bling my iPod.

I am currently watching ‘On Air’!
